2012 THW Masters - The Final Wii Edition
by MacTHW
Tiger Woods PGA Tour for the Wii has come to an end. It’s time to start a new golfing season at THW Golf and, unfortunately, that means leaving the Wii behind and moving on to another console. But, it would be hard to deny that the little Wii console has been very good to us for the past three golfing season. It, along with the Chicken Stick, has provided for a very enjoyable and competitive experience. It is only fitting that we have one final Wii tournament to say goodbye to the console that created THW Golf in the first place.
I am happy to announce the THW Masters at Augusta National. It will be the Final Wii Edition and the green jacket is up for grabs. Once the tournament is over, the Tiger Woods 2013 season officially starts. All stats will reset as usual and all courses will be up for grabs.
Of course, exactly how those stats will be collected is still up in the air.
Here’s your tournament poster. Goodbye Wii. Hello new season.

Finally… An Update, Team binkerton Still Together
by MacTHW
Seeing how we do not have a full-time Executive Assistant onboard here at Team Housewares, sometimes headlines have to give way to situations that don’t include headlines. Anyhoo, after looking around for a bit, some free time has finally been allocated, and presto!, here are some news/headlines. On a side note, if there is anyone out there looking for a 20/40/60-hour per week job that comes with absolutely no pay or benefits (then again, getting to work alongside the awesome MacTHW can be considered a priceless benefit in itself), please apply immediately. If anything, it will look great on your resume
So, what’s been happening since the last update around here? Hmmmm.
Players have split into early and late groups. Ash and bink have been taking the early shift while MacTHW and enderdog have been bringing up the late shift. And then there is B-Dub who was working both shifts. I say was, because it would appear that a few weeks ago B-Dub was mysteriously abducted by aliens, simply vanishing during the middle of a round leaving a befuddled MacTHW standing on the links alone. Hopefully the aliens aren’t doing excessive probing. Poor B-Dub! Here’s hoping he’s gonna be returned soon. Team BigMac had just found their perfect team song. Hint: it involves two all-beef patties…
Team competition remains as competitive as ever and a few new team-ups have happened as well. There’s Team Yeehaw (binkdog and dude), Team fStop (binkdog and Ash), and Team EnderWinds, which combines two players notoriously known for their “winds”, Ash and enderdog. Team binkerton remains a force to be dealt with despite the on-going rumors of their impending break-up.
The battle for skins rages on. Those bink and ender-named dogs keep going back and forth between skins leader. Ash is making a late break for the lead, helped by the fact he has finally accepted the offer of handicap to help him along. MacTHW is also making a late dash for the lead, surpassing binkdog for second place and setting his sights on enderdog. The end of the season is quickly approaching, every game could now be a decider for skins champion.
This wouldn’t be headlines if I didn’t include some actual summaries from games played this last weekend. Gaming has been a little light the last few weeks, so not a lot of games to report on.
Last weekend saw the players compete at Augusta National in preparation for the THW Masters tournament. Dude played along as part of Team Yeehaw. Scores were average at the turn, with no one having the course record in their sights. MacTHW surges along the back nine to win the round but falls five strokes shy of a record.
Augusta
In team competition, Ash and enderdog ride like the wind and crush Team Yeehaw, going 4UP on the 15th.
Next up, a round at Bethpage Black. Dude hangs around as part of Team Yeehaw again. Again, scores are average at the turn. They get worse along the back, given the string of tough holes leading up to the 18th. Scores are close and everyone is racing to the clubhouse. Ash and binkdog get there first, both scoring a 78 and having to settle for a shared lead. enderdog and MacTHW are one stroke behind, both leaving the 18th with a 79 on the scorecard. A very close and exciting finish.
Bethpage Black
The team effort sees Team Yeehaw unable to overcome the strong winds of Team EnderWinds and suffering their second loss of the evening, with EnderWinds going 2UP on the 17th.
With two wins and no losses under their belts, Team EnderWinds catapults into 7th place in the team standings overnight.
The late shift keeps playing while the early shifts clocks out for the evening. Enderdog and MacTHW go head-to-head at Whistling Straits, each looking to hand out a beatdown. There would be no beatdowns, as both players finish the round at 70 apiece.
Whistling Straits
Last round for Friday evening would be at Turnberry, the site of enderdog’s THW record low of 61 and two holes-in-one for Ash and B-Dub. MacTHW takes an early lead, besting enderdog by five strokes at the turn. MacTHW can’t keep it together on the back but does not yield the lead. MacTHW hands a beatdown to enderdog and enderdog signs out for the evening.
Turnberry
Saturday night only sees one game being played. Ash, binkdog and MacTHW take a run at Turnberry. No record setting accomplishments at the turn. binkdog trips up on the back handing MacTHW a two stroke victory.
Turnberry
There’s a lot going on in the Tiger Woods golfing world. Hopefully more updates on that coming soon.

The Times They Are A Changing
by MacTHW
binkdog has lobbied to change the start time for golf outings at THW Golf. Usually we have been starting late in the evening, between 9PM and 10PM MST. But those times have slid later and later as some players can not start until after 10PM.
Instead of waiting around for all players to come online, binkdog is interested in starting a group of players that will play earlier in the evening, a.k.a the Early Crew.
The Early Crew will play their games at an earlier time and submit their scores and screenshots to the usual location. The Late Crew will start playing at their normal time…around 10PM MST or so. There will most likely be a time of overlap between when the Early Crew signs off and the Late Crew starts, which is where our normal Team competitions can take place. Sounds like a win/win situation.
Early start times will start immediately…next weekend.
Yeehaw, ya’ll!

Enderdog Squeaks By For 8th Tournament Championship Win
by MacTHW
enderdog prepares to defend his championship title at Pebble Beach. Virg returns in hopes of turning his previous tournament win into a winning streak. B-Dub has his doubts about his chances at Pebble Beach. binkdog puts on his cranky pants and hits the links for some grumpy golf. And apparently, Turnberry is the place to get an ACE. Who knew? These are your headlines for the re-named Sandbagger Classic.
Again , we are pleased to have six golfers hitting the tee box at Pebble Beach. Round one sees MacTHW going low in hopes snagging himself another championship. MacTHW manages to go sub-seventy, putting three strokes between him and the nearest competitor, binkdog.
Round 1:
Round two find enderdog warming up the clubs and taking back a stroke from MacTHW, leaving him only 4 strokes down at the end of the round. Virg is quickly closing in, firing off a 71, keeping him within striking distance of the leaders.
Round 2:
enderdog plays the rest of his two rounds on Friday evening while the rest of the pack wait until Saturday to play theirs. For round three, enderdog bests his round two score by one, carding a 68 at the end of the round. Round four is enderdog’s Moving Day, firing off a 65 in hopes of stamping his name as champion on the Sandbagger Classic.
Saturday finds Virg having to phone in with a DNF, eliminating him from competition. Ash, MacTHW, GrumpDog and B-Dub continue on.
Round three finds binkdog falling back even further, which doesn’t suit him well, resulting in tirade-laden third and fourth rounds. Meanwhile, MacTHW aware of enderdog’s third round 65, matches him with a 65 of his own. B-Dub tries to find the middle of the cup, but his “slams” just keeping missing, causing him to slide even further back on the leaderboard.
Round 3 (minus enderdog and Virg):
Round four and the scores are close between enderdog and MacTHW. binkdog’s grump-mania is in full effect, scaring his fellow golfers and tournament crowd alike. MacTHW needs to be one under PAR to defeat enderdog but is the victim of an epic binkdog-choke, ending the round at four over, whereas he finished at under PAR on the three previous rounds.
Round 4 (minus enderdog and Virg):
Congratulations to enderdog on winning his 8th tournament championship and successfully defending his 2011 championship at the Sandbagger Classic (previously named the THW Battle Royale).
Final standings after four rounds:

ACES WILD
While binkdog and enderdog were off playing enderdog’s third and fourth rounds, Ash, MacTHW and B-Dub headed out to Turnberry. It turned out to be an ace-citing round as B-Dub goes on to ACE the 11th, becoming the second person at THW Golf to get an ACE on tournament/Expert settings, joining the club’s one and only member, binkdog. But, this story is not over. Ash becomes a member of the THW Golf ACE Club as he gets his ACE on the 15th, becoming the third member. Congrats to both players on some very nice shots!
See the video on the front page!
Turnberry:
enderdog was not content with just winning the Sandbagger Classic. At Pinehurst, he manages to beat MacTHW’s longstanding record of 72, firing off a 69 on a rainy day, which greatly helps to keep those putts from rolling of the mountainous greens. Congrats enderdog on taking yet another Course Pro record.
Pinehurst No.2:
An exciting and odd golfing weekend. Thanks to everyone for participating. Tournament mania is over. There are seven weeks to rest before the THW Masters in April. Get practicing…well, everyone but enderdog.
