enderdog Wins!
by MacTHW
Team binkerton continues to dominate team play. There’s not one, but two new course pros this weekend. binkdog wins the Jim Furyk Sleeping Through Tee Time award. These are your headlines for the THW Golfing weekend.
What starts out as a Team Awesome and Team binkerton showdown at Pinehurst turns into a single event of binkdog vs. enderdog after technical glitches drop Team Awesome out of competition. Both ‘dogs are over par at the turn but enderdog and his chipping wedge become one as he cards birdie after birdie, turning in an impressive 33 for the back nine and 81 overall.
Team Awesome is back in the game and the teams head on over to Wolf Creek. Team binkerton strikes first, going 1UP after the 1st but Awesome doesn’t let them get away and the round is All Square come the turn. The battle continues along the back but MacTHW manages to muzzle the ‘dogs with birdie on the 17th and 18th, going 2UP for team victory.
In the individual competition, the quest for a new course record is on as binkdog leads at the turn. As often happens, the binkdog choke rears it’s ugly head and veers binkdog off course. MacTHW mounts a charge and takes the lead and goes for the win. The race between MacTHW and enderdog is now at 97 and 98 losses respectively.
Next up, the quartet travels to Costa Navarino where it appears that Ash is making a play for the course record. Off by one stroke at the turn he unfortunately runs into a buzzsaw along the back taking him out of the running. binkdog turns in a respectable 31 on the back nine but falls a few strokes short of claiming a course record but takes a win for the round. MacTHW and enderdog are now at 98 and 99.
In the team effort, Team Awesome takes an early lead with an amazing Eagle by Ash on the Par 4 2nd, but we’ve all seen how this movie turns out. The canine duo turn the tables quickly, going into the turn with a 2UP advantage. Awesome fails to respond and taps out on the 15th, giving Team binkerton a 4UP win.
Royal Melbourne is the next stop and enderdog is practically salivating for a new course record. He makes the turn at 32 but MacTHW is there by his side. While the back nine chews up MacTHW and spits him out into the rough, enderdog’s putter is on fire sending the golf ball to it’s destination with heat-seeking accuracy. Not only does he turn in a 29 for the back nine but he also ties the overall THW Golf record of 61 and relieves binkdog of course pro duties at Royal Melbourne. MacTHW and enderdog are now at 99 losses each.
Although enderdog was on top of his personal game, Team Awesome played a well balanced game where either Ash or Mac could match Team binkerton’s results up until the 16th where they unfortunately bow out after falling back 3 shots.
With the great game at Royal the golfers are inspired for one more round of the evening, this one at St. Andrews, yet another binkdog owned course and most likely the decider of the MacTHW-enderdog race. MacTHW looks poised to break all sorts of records, turning in a solid 28 at the turn but the back nine refuses to yield any birdies, only bogies and pars. MacTHW needs a win to send enderdog packing with his 100th loss but binkdog looks to spoil those plans. Luckily, MacTHW hangs on, edging out binkdog for the win by one stroke and officially handing enderdog his 100th loss of the season.
The team effort is once again very close, with Team Awesome going all the way to the 17th before giving Team binkerton a 2UP win, their third victory of the evening.
Saturday, enderdog is a no-show and binkdog takes a dog-nap right through tee time, leaving Ash and MacTHW to play a round at TPC Scottsdale before calling it a night. As luck would have it, MacTHW fires off a 33 on the front and another 33 on the back which is good enough to unseat BWP for the course record. w00t!
See everyone on the links next weekend!

Team binkerton on hot streak, enderdog stays on the porch
by MacTHW
Team play is where the action is at this weekend. Team binkerton looks to extend their winning streak. The race between MacTHW and enderdog stays close as each looks to avoid reaching 100 losses first. These are your headlines for the golfing weekend.
The golfing quartet of Ash, binkdog, enderdog and MacTHW head on over to Torrey Pines for their first tee time on Friday evening. The two dogs are on each other’s heels throughout the entire round, each scoring a 35 on both the front and back nines. Their tie prevents an enderdog WIN, but does put a tick in MacTHW’s loss column.
In team competition, Team binkerton grabs an early lead on the 2nd. Team Awesome has trouble responding and falls 2 strokes back by the 11th. They grab one back on the 16th but completely falter on the 17th, giving Team binkerton a 2UP victory.
Next, another pre-tournament, course scouting expedition at Sheshan. MacTHW has the lead at the turn and manages to hold onto it despite a small charge led by enderdog along the back. MacTHW takes the win and enderdog adds to his loss column.
Team binkerton again grabs an early lead, going 2UP by the 2nd. Team Awesome manages to rally back and take the lead by two strokes at the 11th. Team binkerton mounts a charge and brings the game to All Square by the 15th. An Eagle by enderdog on the Par 4 16th swings the game in Team binkerton’s favor. A birdie on the 17th slams the door shut on Team Awesome. Team binkerton wins with 2UP.
Final round on Friday night was played at TPC Scottsdale, an enderdog favorite. It’s a birdie bonanza for binkdog and enderdog as they hit the turn at 32 and 34—binkdog leading by two. binkdog is hot on the trail of a new course record but is unable to secure it with a tie of BWP’s standing record of 67. Both enderdog and MacTHW get to add another loss to their column.
Team binkerton leaves Team Awesome in the dust. They chase but never overtake Team binkerton and completely run out of fuel by the 13th as Team binkerton speeds away with a 6UP victory.
enderdog sneakily bows out of competition Saturday evening, looking to avoid losses and letting MacTHW speed across that victory line first.
First up, the golfing trio of Ash, binkdog and MacTHW head to Liberty National in search of course records. MacTHW appears to be on track at the turn but derails along the back nine. However, he manages to eek out a victory anyways, avoiding an uptick in the loss column.
Next game is also the last game of Saturday evening. binkdog suggests Banff Springs in hopes of a victory of his own. binkdog has a slight lead at the turn as Ash fights with an uncooperative putter. MacTHW manages to gain a stroke along the back and round ends in a tie.
enderdog’s plan backfires, as both he and MacTHW are now tied at 97 losses each. One can only wonder if enderdog will attempt his devious plan again next weekend. Time will tell.

The Case of the Stolen Swing
by MacTHW
The THW golfers return to the virtual world this weekend and tackle a course that proves to be extremely tricky. Attempts at course records are made but the players appear to be rebuffed at every turn. In team competition, the binkertons try to extend their leaderboard ranking. Someone call the police. MacTHW’s swing has gone missing. These are your headlines for the THW golfing weekend.
binkdog and MacTHW hit the links Friday evening, sans AshTHW and enderdog. They turn their attention to Sheshan, the site of the upcoming THW World Championship tournament. They play three rounds in order to get more familiar with the course and maybe perhaps set a new course record. They soon realize the task is harder than it sounds.
MacTHW is confounded as it appears that he has lost, or at least misplaced, his swing. With MacTHW’s drives landing everywhere but the fairway, binkdog takes advantage and moves in for a win or two. Although binkdog is out-playing MacTHW, he finds the course record just slightly out of reach. After three rounds, binkdog wins two but comes two strokes shy of the elusive record.
Round 1:
Round 2:
Round 3:
That finishes out Friday evening and the duo rest up for Saturday night.
To warm up, the trio of binkdog, enderdog and MacTHW head to…Sheshan. Just as the day before, they find the course record a tough nut to crack. enderdog comes closest, with a 71. MacTHW is still missing his swing and find himself in the caboose.
Ash joins the trio and makes it a quartet at Pebble Beach. Four players equals team game!
enderdog is in search of a course record at Pebble Beach but finds himself slightly off pace at the turn. He is able to hold off the pack and turndles across the finish line with a 67 on the card…good enough for a win but the course record is still safe with MacTHW.
In team competition, Team Awesome find themselves down by two at the turn. They make an attempt at a comeback but finally tap out at 16, down 3.
Next, the teams ride a seesaw at TPC Sawgrass. Ash gets it started for Team Awesome by scoring birdie on the 1st. Team binkerton then responds with birdie of their own on the 2nd. The game goes back and forth until the 17th, when Team binkerton capitalizes on a bogey by Team binkerton, scoring birdie and going 1UP. Team Awesome goes dormie and is unable to score big on the 18th. Team binkerton plays a great team game.
In the individual competition, MacTHW edges out the scrappy binkdog by one stroke for victory…scoring a 69. Again, the course record is safe from a hostile take-over.
The players head to TPC Scottsdale next for the final team game of the evening. enderdog starts out on fire, scoring five birdies in the first six holes and hitting the turn at 30, within striking distance of a new course record. The flame, however, is doused on the back as enderdog cools off tremendously. MacTHW makes a charge and arrives at the finish line one stroke ahead of the rookie for the win.
In team competition, enderdog’s birdie streak along the front puts Team Awesome at an immediate disadvantage, down five by the 6th. Unable to recover, Team binkerton takes the win at 5UP.
Ash leaves for the evening and the remaining trio head to Liberty National for one final round. MacTHW takes a five stroke lead by the turn and does not cede any along the back. Unable to convert a GIR on the 18th leaves him tied for the course record. So close.
Awesome team games this weekend. Very enjoyable and competitive. What happened to MacTHW’s swing is anyone’s guess. Perhaps binkdog borrowed it while he was in town last weekend. An investigation will be put underway. A recon mission might be in order.

2011 Bolt-Action Challenge Shirt Presentation
by MacTHW
Most likely the biggest highlight during binkdog’s visit to the Mile High City, binkdog presented MacTHW with his 2011 Bolt-Action Challenge championship shirt. He reportedly rushed through 18 holes of golf at Fitzsimons Golf Club in order to arrive at the practice in green in time for the presentation.

Unlike enderdog, MacTHW graciously thanks binkdog for a great presentation

MacTHW celebrates quietly to himself
On top of being named THW’s Greatest Caddy, shirt presentation turned out to be pretty awesome. Both enderdog and MacTHW are chasing binkdog for total number of championships held. MacTHW will host the THW World Championship next month. Be there!

2011 S-Mart Classic Shirt Presentation
by MacTHW
The rookie enderdog is having a great year at THW Golf. He recently increased his championship count by one by winning the 2011 S-Mart Classic at Bethpage Black. binkdog was on hand as guest shirt presenter and congratulates enderdog from the practice green at the Fitzsimons Golf Course.

...and graciously accepts his S-Mart Classic shirt
This is championship number five for the rookie, only one behind binkdog in total count.
