MacTHW Endures Heat, Keeps Championship Title

Birdwatchers would have been pleased, as there were many birdies, and even some eagles, to be seen on the links this weekend.

The action started at Bay Hill where the winner was separated from the losers by only one stroke. Both Ash and MacTHW stumbled on Hole 16 allowing binkdog to gain a lead for the win. Ash and MacTHW would have to settle for a tie for second place. The action would continue at Wentworth in sunny Surrey, England. The battle was close throughout the match until MacTHW sealed the deal on Hole 18 with an Eagle, while both Ash and binkdog put up bogeys. binkdog would take second place and Ash third. Next, the tournament continued at Harbour Town, a binkdog favorite. MacTHW managed to keep a small lead and fended off both Ash and binkdog for the win. Finally, the tournament finished up at Doral. The wheels came of for Ash, leaving binkdog and MacTHW battling for first place. Eventually, MacTHW would eek out a three stroke lead to retain the THWGolf Championship.

Ash challenges, Mac holds serve !!

There were plenty of birdies to be had friday night, and even an eagle or two.  Ash and Bink got the party started at the K club, with binkdog carding a 2 under 70 and Ash close behind with a personal best of even par 72.  The party was just getting started, however, as the current Champion MacTHW proved that Harbour Town was no match for his skills, as he fired a 62 to match a personal best. Ash also scored low, beating his previous personal best by 4 shots for a 68 - well done ASH!  Binkdog was MIA with an 80, well off the pace. Virg was also MIA after talking some early smack but was unwilling to back it up. The evening’s most competitive match took place at Cog Hill, where Mac took a 1 stroke lead over Ash into 18, with Bink trailing by 2 strokes.  Ash rose up to the challenge with a birdie at 18 to secure the tie, as Mac and Bink failed to birdie.  The co-leaders shot a 69 and binkdog trailed with an even par 71.  In the evening’s nightcap, Mac took control of a tie game shortly after the turn with 3 birdies in a row while Bink struggled to make par.  This was enough of a cushion as Bink never got closer than 4 strokes.  Mac shot a 2 under 71 while bink was above par with 75.  See you next time on the links!

MacTHW Retains THW Golf Championship Title

Welcome, everyone, to the first RSS post of the THW Golfing Championship played 5.15.2010

This weekend we visited Bay Hill, Sheshan and Banff Springs.

Virg took a four stroke lead at the first outing in Bay Hill, with MacTHW coming in second place. Next at Sheshan, binkdog steps up with an impressive 67 beating out Virg and MacTHW by 7 strokes. Then, MacTHW and Virg turn up the heat at the wet and slushy Banff Springs, where binkdog settles for third and Ash1300ad for last places.

Overall, the standings are:
